The arts and our local economy are connected, according to the results of a study by Americans for the Arts in 2017.
The Arts All Over performance scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 24 at the Owl Creek Landing-Nautilus Observation Tower, 801 General Booth Blvd, has been postponed to 2 p.m. on June 28, as work on the site’s finishing touches continues. The Office of Cultural Affairs announced in October 2017 the results of a comprehensive study by Americans for the Arts that examined the economic impact of the arts in Virginia Beach (AEP5). The study found that $87.7 million in economic activity and 2,875 jobs are generated annually by the non-profit arts and culture industry in Virginia Beach, making it a formidable business and economic driver for the City.
